If you’ve been blessed with a person who loves you and is patient with you, don’t push them to where they lose patience with you and eventually some or all of their love for you as well. It is so easy to take advantage of a caring person who asks little in return out of fear of losing you. But if you stop showing basic gratitude and courtesy to those who deserve it but don’t demand it, they may eventually lose their temper with you and even worse, you may lose them.

This could apply to a parent, a spouse, or even a precious friend. He who has not shown gratitude to the people, has not shown gratitude to God. May He open our hearts to those who have given their hearts to us, and expand our gratitude to Him and all of those we sometimes fall short of properly appreciating.
